Ovechkin and Crosby Have Lots to Play For

More on the Crosby/Ovechkin rivalry, from FORBES.com of all places...

The rookie seasons of Alexander Ovechkin and Sidney Crosby are quickly coming to an end. Neither is coasting to the finish line.

Ovechkin and Crosby won't be in the playoffs, so their stretch runs are for pride and padding their rookie resumes.

While still looking for his 50th goal, Ovechkin posted two assists Wednesday night to get to 50 in the Washington Capitals' 4-3 shootout loss at home to the Carolina Hurricanes. He extended his point streak to 10 games and is close to becoming the second NHL rookie to have 50 goals and 100 points in a season.
