WC: Canada 4 - Finland 2: Into the Quarters...

Another day, another win for Team Canada...

They say familiarity breeds contempt, and Jeff Carter made it look almost contemptuously easy in Canada's 4-2 win over Finland to move into top spot in Group E Monday night at Riga Arena.

Carter paced the Canadian attack with two shorthanded goals against his Philadelphia Flyers teammate, goaltender Antero Niittymaki, who left the game midway through due to a left leg injury. Niittymaki will have X-rays on the leg on Tuesday to determine his status.

"I was brought here to produce offense, and I was sluggish in the first few games, so it was great to get the goals," said Carter.
Sidney had a quiet night with just 1 assist, but still leads the tournament with 12 points in 6 games. Teammate Patrice Bergeron is second with 11 points and Alexander Ovechkin is 8th(!) with 7 points. BooYAH!
