Crosby vs. Ovechkin: Let the Hype Begin

Ovechkin vs. Crosby, the match many have been waiting for at one level or another.

Monday night’s Penguins/Capitals match-up on VERSUS features the first nationally televised showdown between two of the NHL’s most dynamic young talents, Pittsburgh ’s Sidney Crosby and Washington ’s Alexander Ovechkin, a budding rivalry that some are already saying will compare to Hull vs. Howe and Gretzky vs. Lemieux.

In addition to producing the game in High Definition, VERSUS will present several enhancements in showcasing this marquee match-up:

Both Crosby and Ovechkin will wear microphones for the entire game;

Both Crosby and Ovechkin, as well as members of both teams’ coaching staffs, will be interviewed during the game;

Pittsburgh center Evgeni Malkin will be interviewed pre-game, with fellow countryman (and that night’s opponent) Ovechkin serving as translator.
