The Wallpaper Project Results
I got an amazing response to my call for wallpapers. Since there are so many, I thought the previews should be as small as possible so that it doesn't take half an hour to load the page. Simply click on the photos to enlarge them. Enjoy!
First up, I gathered several of my personal favorites that I wanted to share with you. (Haha, I couldn't narrow the choices down to any less than these 24 pics!) Here they are in no particular order:
Now here are all the contributions from the Friends of The Show. Alyse, the Friend who originally suggested the idea for this post, sent in two of her own creations:
AustinLovesCrosby sent in some of her favorites from the Pens' website and one she found elsewhere:
n.jo made these two wallpapers during the playoffs and rotated them on her desktop each time the Pens started a new series:
Dayna D. from The Offseason was lucky enough to snap this amazing shot at Round 1 Game 4 after the Pens swept the Senators. (It was her first Pens game!) She then enhanced the picture by removing the color from the crowd. She gave us 2 different sizes:
XDancexxForxxMeX sent in this one that she made using Adobe PhotoShop for the first time:
1WingAngel made this one that showcases every side of Sidney, from his intensity on the ice to his compassion within the community:
Michelle in Nova Scotia is the creator of these amazing wallpapers. If you know how to use PhotoShop or the open source - that's "free" to you non-geeks ;) - graphics software GIMP, you can use the wallpaper from the Pens' website of the 2008-09 season schedule to replace October with the relevant month to update her calendar wallpaper:
And last but certainly not least, Jaime made these unbelievable wallpapers:
The final wallpaper was created by Jaime in honor of Mad Max Talbot's last second tying goal and Petr Sykora's subsequent game winner in the third overtime of Stanley Cup Final Game 5. It features a quote taken from a comment on the recap left by Friend of The Show Mer R.:
WOW. A hundred thousand thank yous to Alyse, AustinLovesCrosby, n.jo, Dayna, XDancexxForxxMeX, 1WingAngel, Michelle in Nova Scotia, and Jaime for the super sweet wallpapers! Now all of our computers are ready for October!!! :)
