Sidney and the Pens to get National Exposure

by Jes

Good news for Sidney fans, Penguins fans, and hockey fans, in general, as Sid and the boys will be featured prominently on VERSUS's national telecasts this season.

Sidney Crosby and the Penguins are ready for prime time. At least according to the Versus network.

The league announced Wednesday that eight Penguins games will be televised nationally by Versus this season.

Crosby and the Penguins make their 2007-08 debut on Versus on Tuesday, Oct. 23 when they host the New York Rangers at 7 p.m. at Mellon Arena.

Pittsburgh also announced two time changes for broadcast purposes to the regular season schedule. The Penguins' Nov. 7 home game against Philadelphia has been changed from 7:30 to 7 p.m. because it will be televised nationally in Canada by TSN. The Penguins' January 21 home game vs. Washington has been changed from 7 to 7:30 to accommodate the Versus schedule.

Now, since *I* live in Canada, this won't benefit me much at all. I just hope we get a lot more Penguin love and a lot less Oiler love. Who would you rather see? Sidney Crosby, or Dick Tarnstrom?

Exactly.
