More Pics of Game 1 (With a Few Blunders)
Okay, so I was surfing the 'Net for more pictures of last night's game, and I found some more I wanted to share with you. First up, I found this wicked shot of a sign in the Pens' locker room:

But then I found this shot with a misidentification of Ryan Whitney:

It only gets worse. CBS Sports made the same mistake about the Saint repeatedly. Take a look at what number they said Sid wears:

Now one link and two reminders: 1.) Friend of The Show Stephanie B. posted a comment recommending that we check out Dan Rosen's article about how people expect so much from the Saint that they get upset when he "only" does well, 2.) don't miss out- send in your pictures showing us how you're supporting the Pens, and 3.) don't forget to pick up your Mike Lange ringtone - IT'S FREE!!!!!!
GO PENS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

But then I found this shot with a misidentification of Ryan Whitney:

This mistake would be forgivable if this was Round 1. But it is Round 3. Unreal.
(Off topic: It's a great shot of why I think Whit looks like Wolverine!)

I'm not even going to dignify this mistake with a witty retort.

Yahoo's pretty bad for the mess ups. For the longest time Nicklas Backstrom's profile picture was completely wrong (I dunno exactly who it was, but last I checked, he's a blond kid, not a thirty-something with dark brown short hair).
There are in fact two Nicklas Backstroms in the NHL, one of whom happens to be said thirty-something with dark brown short hair.
There is a Nicklas Backstrom who is Minnesota's goalie who meets that description, I bet that is who the photo was of
Yahoo needs a writer the same caliber as the photographer haha
I also wanted to remind everyone when they want to search the web for articles relating to "Sid Crosby is awesome" or "The Pens are gonna win the Stanley Cup," or to look at pics of Malkin pwning, or shop for things, to use http://www.goodsearch.com/?charityid=803951
It benefits the Mario Lemieux Foundation
Who doesn't know Sidney Crosby's number? Like honestly....
I guess the mainstream media just really wanted the Hurricanes to be in the post-season.
In the EC semifinals, the NBC announcers kept referring to Marc Staal from the Rangers as Eric Staal, and now you've got Yahoo referring to Ryan Whitney as Ray Whitney.
At some point, I'll expect Jarkko Ruutu to be referred to as Tuomo.
Good luck to your Pens. I'm rooting for them all the way!
Sounds like whoever wrote the article was used to writing Jagoff's number.
Getty Images can be blamed for the picture mess ups. All the other places get their info from Getty, and someone there seems to get a lot of amusement out of writing that Sid is #68.
Don Cherry referred to Jordan as Eric on ESPN late Friday night as well. Wow. What a "get" for ESPN.
/sarcasm
For my part, I'm supporting the Pens by drawing pictures of girls in hockey sweaters!

I found the Backstrom (WASH) thing funny because for pretty much the entire season they didn't have a pic for him at all, and when they finally got one it wasn't even him (though, evidently, potentially still a Backstrom).
Wooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo!
Let's Go Pens!
Gary, Geno and Hossa with goals tonight.
best mix-up i've seen of a pen was someone who claimed that Eric and Jordan Staal were identical twins... ignoring the fact that Jordan is much blonder, the fact that they are 3 years apart in age seemed to escape the author's notice, despite his listing several other stats that would have required checking their profiles on their respective NHL webpages...
on a completely unrelated note: SNOOP! the song with the bells at 19:16 in the third period of game two: what is it?! is this the one you were curious about too a few months back?
Okay, so Nostradamus I'm not but Roberts had an huuuuuuuuuuuge assist and Hossa did score.
2 outta 3 ain't bad.
WOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!
What a game!
fleury29 - that roberts assist was INCREDIBLE!!!!!
what a game what a game....
wachovia center tuesday night - should be interesting. I'm battling it out with some flyers fans...
Max's goal tonight was great, Sid's was incredible.
LET'S GO PENS!
